A small bump appeared at the back (middle segment) of my tongue a few days ago. It feels rough when touched with my finger. Could this be an STD? Could deep kissing cause this? Or is this temporary?
It could be a simple aphthous ulcer or a herpetic lesion (caused by herpes virus). To distinguish which is which, this requires direct examination of the lesion. Either way, it will resolve on its own. Meanwhile, abstain from kissing as it can be contagious.
