So even more reason to visit your doctor; there may an ongoing ligament or tendon inflammation, now that you have mentioned that the pain also occurs while driving, knowing that driving involves pedaling activity (moving the ankle joint up and down relies on the ligament s and tendons of that joint and the calf muscles). You need to be examined and maybe do imaging if your doctor deems it necessary, or it may be just an injury that requires some rest and oral anti inflammatory medications.
