When I was young I was blond (blond hair brown eyebrows) but as I grew older my hair colour changed to brown and my facial hair grew brown. Why is that?

Hair color comes from the pigmentation of hair follicles. There are two types of melanin in human hair: eumelanin and pheomelanin. In general, the more eumelanin you have, the darker the color of the hair is; if less eumelanin is present, the hair tends to be lighter. Over time, levels of melanin can vary, especially with sun exposure (sunlight stimulates melanocytes, the cells that produce melanin, to increase their production of this pigment), causing a person's hair color to change, usually to a darker shade. It is also possible for one person to possess hair follicles of more than one color.
