When can I take my newborn out of the house and what are the recommended places I can take him to?
Oct 17, 2014

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
Our mothers say that we should not be taking a baby outside the house before he or she is 40 days of age. I really don't know where this notion came from, but I assure you it's not scientifically based. You can take your baby out now especially that the weather is mild; avoid over dressing him- dress him like you and keep his blanket of him. Avoid direct sunlight and crowded places, especially if there's smoking. Opt for a place not nearby a highway or a main street where car exhaust is dense. And obviously avoid having him around ill people.
