Oily scalp is due to excess of secretion of sebum glands on the scalp. Frequent shower can decrease it. The shampoo by itself is most probably not a related cause. However, it can sometimes be associated with acne and in that case there are some treatments that can reduce it. If not associated then a trial of a shampoo for oily scalp can be done.
