Dr. Ivana Dabaj Pediatric Neurology
Genetic testing is the test we do to check for genetic disorders. We do these tests to diagnose the disease, to find possible diseases in unborn babies, to screen embryos for the disease. In case of epilepsy, it is important to do genetic testing in some cases but we don't do genetic testing for all kids with epilepsy. In case of epilepsy that is associated to other disorders (part of a syndrome) and in case of epilepsy that is refractory to treatment, we highly recommend to do genetic testing. If you want further details please feel free to ask.
