What happens if it was wrongly done? One nurse had caused hematoma in his arm and was and still is painful to this day (injection was 5 days ago).

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
The process of healing is expected to be suboptimal in patients receiving chemotherapy, so this hematoma will take longer to resolve. A subcutaneous injection, or any injection, given improperly, will alter the adequate absorption of the injected material and so the drug may not be well uptaken and as such not as effective. Moreover, if an injection is given frequently in the same spot, over time fibrosis of the skin will develop and this by itself will hinder the drug absorption.
