What are the early sympotms of a brain tumor?
Feb 21, 2013

Dr. Ivana Dabaj Pediatric Neurology
The most common symptoms are: Headache (especially morning headaches), weakness, clumsiness, difficulty walking, seizures.
Other symptoms are: Nausea, vomiting: especially early in the morning; changes in concentration, memory, attention, or alertness, visual problems, speech difficulty, …etc
Most of the time, the symptoms appear progressively but occasionally they can appear rapidly. It depends on the location of the brain tumor.
We should keep in mind that not all brain tumors cause symptoms and some like tumors of the pituitary gland case no symptoms (earlier in the disease). Therefore the diagnosis of such tumors will be delayed and the clinical manifestations will appear later when the disease has progressed
