What are the side effects of a sinus operation?
Mar 23, 2013

Dr. Jihad Achkar Otolaryngology (ENT)
Sinus surgery if not done by an experienced surgeon, can have multiple risks. The sinuses are located between the orbits (housing the eyes), and base of skull (surrounding the brain). Injury to any of the above is among the rare complications. Most common complications include incomplete clearance of the sinus disease during surgery, especially when the drainage area of the frontal sinuses (above the eyes) is not opened up properly. This will lead to recurrence of symptoms and sometimes the need for redo surgery.
