Sometimes when I get a migraine, I also have rapid heartbeats and shortness of breath. Is that normal and what could be the cause?

Dr. Ivana Dabaj Pediatric Neurology
When you have migraine your body is in pain. One of the reactions of your body to pain is rapid heartbeat also called tachycardia. Also you can have fast respiration and you feel you are not able to breath. This is normal in case of strong head ache or any type of pain as well as in moments of stress. The cause is the stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system which is a system in your body that reacts to pain by stimulating the heart and lungs to act this way (also it stimulates other systems...).
