My period is late, it should have been March 1st, now we are March 4th. What is wrong?

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
Menstrual cycle delays of 7-10 days may occur infrequently in otherwise healthy individuals secondary to stress, be it physical (working too hard, strenuous exercise, poor nutrition or strict dieting, persistent sleep deficiency), psychological (anxiety, depression), or both. Pregnancy must also be ruled out in sexually active females. If you are sexually active and your period still does not occur within the next few days, you should take a home pregnancy test. Otherwise and in most cases, chances are that the menstrual bleeding will take place no so far from today; if it doesn't (and this is less likely), you need to consult a physician (gynecologist) for a more thorough evaluation.
