If the other developmental indicators, such as sitting up without support, reaching out for objects with her hands, pulling her legs straight and strong with support, are ok, then you need not be worried, especially that she has already started to laugh loudly and her hearing is normal. It is true that at the age of 6 months, babies are expected to begin to babble, squeal, gurgle and laugh. They may speak one syllabus words like"m" or "b", or make sounds like "ba" or "da", in addition to responding to their own names. But some babies take more time than others. To enhance your baby’s language abilities, try talking to her: for example pointing out to objects and people and naming them (even though she's still too young to understand), reading for her. You could also start playing pickaboo with her blanket as well. Soon enough she will start making sounds on her own.
