This could be very well an allergic reaction. Does he have any of the following:
- facial/lip swelling
- sudden onset cough and wheezing
- inability to swallow (excessive drooling)
- vomiting and/or diarrhea
If yes then he needs to be seen in the emergency room because these symptoms indicate a severe allergic reaction and requires injection medication.
If not then it's a limited allergic reaction and you need to have him examined by his pediatrician and start him on him an oral antihistamine (like desloratadine) for a few days. I cannot provide the medication dosage as a direct evaluation by a physician is still necessary.
