Dr. Ziad Tannous Orthopedic Surgery
Bone marrow per se ,( os spongieux in french ) is one of the major places in the body where blood cells are manufactured and excreted in the blood. an abnormal signal in this part of bone can be due to many reasons most probably it is due to bone marrow edema ( as resulting from a contusion , or a non specific inflammation !) , according to your report it was attributed to an overactivity of hematopoiesis ( production of blood cells : red , white , etc ) ... that could be seen if you are overcompensating for anemia for example ... further details could be provided to you by your hematologist .
