I've booked for hysterectomy next week. Does vaginal cuff dehiscence occur from partial hysterectomy or total? My doctor left the choice to me. My cervix is fine with no past abnormal Pap smears.

we generally do total hysterectomy, i.e. we remove the cervix even if you had normal pap smear in the past , usually sub-total hysterectomy are done in emergency cases, like when doing a c-section & we have uterine atony, so to minimize bleeding & operating time...
