It's been a month that my 14 months is having watery mucus like stool several times a day(4/7). We did 2 stools analyses, the 2nd time it was written "nombreuses colonies de candida". What is that?

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
Candida species, a type of fungus, are frequently isolated from stool sample of children, but they are not known to underlie diarrhea. Mucus in the stools indicates intestinal inflammation, probably due to some form of food allergy. I advise you to consult a pediatric gastroenterologist (a pediatrician with a sub-specialty in stomach and intestinal diseases in children) on the matter, and do a tape test 3 times on 3 consecutive days to rule out parasitic (worm) infestation.
