If you're still feeling short of breath despite being on lexotanil, I would recommend the following:
1- make sure that you do not have an underlying medical condition that is causing the shortness of breath. In the menstruating female we think of anemia due to menstrual blood loss and poor intake of iron-rich foods. You should therefore have a complete blood count (CBC) and iron studies (total iron, ferritin, total iron binding capacity) done to rule this in/out.
2- as much as possible, reduce the sources of stress. Also try relaxing practices such as yoga and meditation. Reduce alerting substances like caffeine and tobacco (if you do smoke).

Lexotanil is only a short term solution. It is not a treatment.
You may be having panic attacks which are easily treated. You will need to consult a psychiatrist or psychologist who will be able to help you with that. There are several ways to deal with stress based on what kind of stress you re experiencing and your specific situation.
There is definitely a solution to what you are experiencing. Good luck!
