Is there anything to be scared of? No one in my family has Cholesterol and my diet is really healthy. What could be the reason?

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
Not all forms of lipid disease are inherited - some are sporadic, i.e., they happen in people with no family history of the disorder. And weight control with dietary regulation and regular exercise in cases of dyslipidemia (lipid disease) is sometimes not enough to safeguard against the development of elevated levels of cholesterol, as the problem is in some of the molecules responsible for carrying and processing fats. Such cases require therapeutic intervention in conjunction with the lifestyle management.
