Is the frequent intake of the hormone premolutnor (every other month) related to higher triglicerides levels in the blood?
May 9, 2013

Dr. Rania Mousa General Medicine
no evidence that primolut nor (norethisterone) will elevate or lower triglyceride levels
but if you are hyperlipidimic some people report after using progesterone elevation in their LDL in plasma and/ or decrease in HDL, although data have been inconsistent. Patients with preexisting hyperlipidemia may require closer monitoring during progestogen therapy, and adjustments made accordingly in their lipid-lowering regimen.
