Is it true that teeth bleaching removes a layer of the teeth? and the more it is done, the weaker the teeth become?
Jun 12, 2013

Dr. Ghassan Nawfal Surgery
Usually not. The enamel is not damaged from whitening procedures. The teeth become sensitive after the procedure for 24-48 hours but the process does not remove any layer from the teeth. It is important to have it done under professional guidance though, to avoid the side effects of the procedure which are mainly related to the gels and products used.

dentist don't speak of bleaching anymore, since the methods and products used are different. the proper terminology is whitening now... and since the new methods, the enamel is being more protected.
