Is it true that after a workout our bodies keep burning calories? So it's ok if we eat after exercising?
Oct 11, 2013

Dr. Ghassan Nawfal Surgery
Yes it is true. For most people, optimal calorie burning after exercise will occur when exercise is performed at around 80% of the individual's maximum heart rate. And the longer the exercise, the more potent the effect.
It is best to eat carbohydrate-rich foods with some protein, 15-60 min. after workout. Drinking plenty of fluids, such as sports drinks, is most important following workouts.
