Yes some experts have used simeprevir in combination with sofosbuvir (with or without weight-based ribavirin) for the treatment of genotype 1 infection based on preliminary data from the phase 2a COSMOS trial that showed excellent SVR rates with this regimen. The combination of simeprevir and sofosbuvir, commonly referred to as "SMV-SOF" is still not FDA-approved for use, there is still stages trial to be confirmed but is on the way because of its success.
