Joint popping or cracking is not a problem unless it seems to bother your baby. Usually, what happens when you hear such a sound is the sudden formation of a vacuum in the joint when it's stressed (just like when someone cracks their knuckles). Occasionally, a joint popping could indicate instability of the joint but this is more likely to occur in older children.
