In fact it is not a matter of how much you drink water but how you drink it ,if you will take it over period then no problem but drinking too much at the same time will make a problem or water intoxication
The kidneys of a healthy adult can process fifteen liters of water a day.
You are unlikely to suffer from water intoxication, even if you drink a lot of water, as long as you drink over time as opposed to in taking an enormous volume at one time.
As a general guideline, most adults need about three quarts of fluid each day. Much of that water comes from food, so 8-12 eight ounce glasses a day is a common recommended intake.
You may need more water if the weather is very warm or very dry, if you are exercising, or if you are taking certain medications.
However it's possible to drink too much water, but unless you are running a marathon water intoxication is a very uncommon condition
Try to drink water on intervals i mean frequent intake ,preferabily not with a meal and not directly after a meal let the water before or after by 30 minutes of a meal .
try when you eat ,not to be totally full so that you can't drink water or feeling that your stomach can't take adding water to its content ,
both eating too much or drinking on a full stomach are bad habits and can as you say widen your stomach beside feeling fullness and totally unwell .
the advice to keep a place to drink and to stay relaxed after a meal .
