Is intelligence hereditary and does it actually increase with reading and learning?
Sep 7, 2013

Dr. Ivana Dabaj Pediatric Neurology
Intelligence is inherited partly and also big contributing factors to better cognitive skills are environmental factors and stimulation (working on enhancing the memory, reading, learning...) during childhood (especially before the age of 6 year old when the brain is so flexible and growing). However, recently several studies showed that fluid intelligence does not change in adults even after sessions of adaptive working memory training.
