In the case of uterine prolapse, what is the best non surgical management option ? Is it mandatory to perform a hysterectomy ? Thanks!

Dr. Nehme Raad Urology
All depends on the type and degree of prolapse.
In general, there are 2 ways of surgeries for prolapse: trans-vaginal and trans-abdominal (sacro-colpo suspension).
An hysterectomy is not always needed.
The trans-abdominal approach is known to cause less recurrence of the prolapse, and the uterus is usually spared during this approach.
