Dr. Rania Mousa General Medicine
Difficulty of breathing or Shortness of breath or dyspnea is the inability to breath normally
At your age ,very strenuous exercise, stress extreme temperatures, massive obesity and high altitude, allergy to certain types of food ,... all can cause shortness of breath in a healthy person. Outside of these examples, shortness of breath is likely a sign of a medical problem. If you have unexplained shortness of breath, especially if it comes on suddenly and is severe, see your doctor as soon as possible
It may be due to heart or lung conditions. Your heart and lungs are involved in transporting oxygen to your tissues and removing carbon dioxide, and problems with either of these processes affect your breathing some are :
all heart and lung problems like : and infections ,bacterial and viral infections ,asthma allergy ,obesity ,epiglottis ,stress ,...

Diagnosing or approaching the cause depends on other symptoms associated with this dyspnea LIKE chest pain, fainting or nausea cough ,fever ,swelling ,weezing and others

it is also affected by what time this happened ,at rest at exercise after exercise ,after eating ,when sleeping ,after being angry or stressed ,when ,associated with infection ,allergy ,....suddenly or graduating or becoming worse and what triggers it

however if you feel severe shortness of breath suddenly and affect the way you behave where you can't talk continuously without taking a breath between letters and have beside difficulty of breath symptoms of chest pain fainting or nausea, swelling high fever ,weakness, wheezing ,worsening of the condition ,extremeties and lips turn bluish in color ,
then go and check with your doctor directly for proper examinations and tests and necessary treatments
but if you have mild dyspnea that is not associated with the above some measures might cure the symptom such as :
-Stop smoking.
-Avoid exposure to pollutants. As much as possible, avoid breathing allergens and environmental toxins.
-Lose weight if you are overweight.
-Take care of yourself. If you have an underlying medical condition, take care of it.
-Avoid exertion at elevations higher than (1,524 meters).
-If you rely on supplemental oxygen be sure your supply is adequate and the equipment works properly
- try to find the trigger of your symptom
-relax ,reduce stress ,take enough sleeps
- eat well food rich with iron to prevent anemia
-take deep breathes when having the symptom ,slow deep breath from your nose and slow release from your mouth
- if your condition worsen don't hesitate to check with the doctor
