Im 26 & had a tachycardia yesterday. Peaked at 138 bpm. Tested positive for troponine, but echo and ECG showed no sign of something wrong. 24 hours later troponine is negative. How should I proceed?

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
You should consult a cardiologist for this matter; he/she may order a 24 hours monitoring of the heart beats in an attempt to detect the frequency and extent of tachycardia, and any associated changes on the electrocardiogram tracing. Basic blood tests, like a complete blood count (to check for anemia), a random blood sugar (to check for any disturbances), and thyroid function tests (to check for an over active thyroid gland) are also required. The management will be decided according to the results of those tests. Meanwhile, if you're big on coffee or any other caffeinated beverages (including energy drinks) or foods (including chocolate), shy away from those. Also avoid tobacco in case you smoke. Stay well hydrated, and get proper adequate sleep. Needless to say, try as much as possible to avoid stressful situations.
