I would like to know if taking the birth control pill for a long time (5 years) creates problems in having kids in the future when I decide to stop taking the pill
Mar 7, 2013

Dr. Karim Nawfal Obstetrics & Gynecology
No there is no evidence that it will affect your fertility in the future.
The birth control pills will stop you from ovulating but you will resume ovulation immediately or within a month or two after stopping them.
In addition there is evidence that taking birth control pills for 5 years or more might also protect against ovarian cancer.
