I work out almost 4 times a week and have been going on a healthier diet for more than a month now, but I feel am gaining weight more than losing! What could possibly be wrong?

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
If your diet is healthy i.e. no fatty foods and adequate intake of calories, then the most likely reason would be that you're building up muscle mass faster than you're losing fat. Muscle is more dense than fat, but it occupies less space. So if you gain muscle, your weight (on the scale) may go up even as you're slimming down. In order not to get confused, don't rely only on the scale to track your weight changes; a good method is to take measures of different ares of your body (waist, thighs etc) on a regular basis: if the perimeter of say your waist is decreasing, this means you're doing a good job at losing weight.
