I take diane 35 usually after 7 days of my menstrual cycle as prescribed by my Dr. What should I do if I discovered that i am pregnant while taking diane 35? Does this affects the embryo? thanks
Taking combination birth control pills or minipills (progestin-only birth control pills) during early pregnancy was not found to increase the risk of birth defects.
Some research has shown a link between the use of birth control pills near the time of conception and an increased risk of low birth weight, preterm delivery or congenital urinary tract abnormalities, but these concerns generally haven't been encountered in the clinical practice. However, if you do conceive while taking the minipill there's a slightly higher chance that the pregnancy will be ectopic, i.e., the fertilized egg may implant outside the uterus, most commonly in a fallopian tube. One thing you need to be aware of is that it might be difficult to recognize that you're pregnant if you conceive while taking the minipill because the common signs and symptoms of pregnancy, including nausea, breast tenderness and irregular menstrual bleeding, are also some of the possible side effects of the minipill.
To be on the safe side, if you suspect you're pregnant take a home pregnancy test. If it turns out positive, stop taking the pill. If for some reason you cannot take a home pregnancy test, stop taking the birth control pill until the pregnancy is confirmed or ruled out. Meanwhile, resort to a different control method such as condoms.

Annual Checkup
It is recommended that all individuals see a Family Doctor for a full medical examination annually. Adults should get their blood pressure checked (US Preventive Task Force), a flu vaccine (CDC) and more each year.
The American Dental Association recommends dental cleanings for adults at least twice annually. Some stains can only be removed by a professional cleaning.
It’s recommended by the American Academy of Ophthalmology that every adult between the ages of 18 and 80 does an eye examination at least once every two years.
It's recommended by the American Cancer Association that every adult between the age of 20 and 80 does an annual skin screening by a licensed dermatologist.
