I recently had a keloid excised from my left ear cartilage and my doctor is suggesting we inject Triamcinolone to reduce the over healing process. Does it really work and what are the side effects?

Dr. Michel Moutran Plastic Surgery
Triamcinolone is a long acting corticosteroid used commonly in controlling hypertrophic and keloid scarring. If done in the proper indication it can really help prevent the recurrence of keloid. But keloids are a very complex entity and sometimes they are resistant to triamcinolone.
