I'm on Lamictal treatment, what kind of medicine can I take along if I have a high fever?
Nov 7, 2015

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
Based upon the Lexi-Comp drug interaction chart, Lamictal (lamotrigine) does NOT interact with the commonly used medications used as anti-pyretics (to lower temperature), such as paracetamol and ibuprofen, as long as the medications you use do not contain these components in combination with other drugs, such as Orphenadrine (used in oral muscle relaxants), propoxyphene or hydrocodone.
Please always refer to your treating doctor and always make sure you read the details of the the leaflet/insert inside every medication box, especially over-the-counter medications, before taking them.
