I heard about a method of painless childbirth at one of the hospitals which consists of injections at various intervals of an Analgesic Cocktail. Is this safe?
This is not an analgesia method recommended by the obstetrics and gynecology societies in the U.S or in Europe. We also have no studies or evidence on the effect of this combination of medications on the baby.
The best is to have a painless childbirth but also be fully awake to experience it with your partner and also remember it afterwards.
An epidural anesthesia allows for both and is proven to be safe.
