Dr. Youssef Bassim Orthopedic Surgery
it is common not to have same sizes of both feet. Your problem is most probably related to shoe wear and when the shoes are inappropriate you feel you want to wear different sizes. Bunion is also a common problem mostly in females and it is due to big toe deviation from the center to the lateral side. If you are a lady, you should avoid wearing high heels except occasionally and try to wear wide tip shoes instead of pointed shoes. Bunion can be corrected surgically when painful or when esthetically not acceptable. Non surgical ways are silicon spacer and night splint to keep big toe straight but these do not correct permanently the problem but might relieve pain.
