I had an oral surgery and the stitches are still there. Everyone is advising me not to shower because of hot water and steam. Is that a fact or a myth?

Dr. Michel Moutran Plastic Surgery
The stitches that you have are most probably resorbable. They will be digested partly by your oral enzymes. There are no restriction on showering. Just make sure that you use an oral antiseptic after eating to wash out the crusts.
