Dr. Rania Mousa General Medicine
Long-term of all PPI medication (proton pump inhibitor) treatment and one of them is the medication you are taking (pantoprazole ) is associated with body weight gain in patients with GERD (gastro esophageal reflux disease )

Reflux patients receiving PPI should be encouraged to manage body weight through lifestyle modifications such as proper diet and avoidance of overeating

Try to :
-focus on fruits, veggies, egg whites, soy products, skinless breasts, fish, shellfish, nonfat dairy foods, and 95% lean meat.
-Eat vegetables to help you feel full.
-Drink plenty of water.
-Get tempting foods out of your home.
-Stay busy you don't want to eat just because you're bored.
-Eat only from a plate, while seated at a table. No grazing in front of the 'fridge.
-Don't skip meals.
-Plan to do cardio and strength training.
