Many factors can affect your voice and the cause may not be obvious. Meanwhile, especially on the beach, rest your voice, avoid smoking and shouting and stay well hydrated (very important for sensitive vocal cords). Additionally, acid reflux can cause voice problems and your physician will prescribe appropriate treatment for this condition.
More detailed history and endoscopic exam of your voice box is required, however if this happens frequently as in your question and during this circumstance it is highly suggestive of weather / location induced laryngitis
