it is hard to tell what the problem is without asking more questions: does the pain go to the thighs and legs? do you have numbness or weakness in your legs? Have you had this for a long time ? ...
Muscle spasm can be handled simply by paying attention to stretching exercises before any strong activity , Also you should avoid training with heavy weights ... try to take a hot shower right after exercise ....
If things don't work out have your back checked by a Neurosurgeon or orthopedist
