Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
ou need to rest, increase your fluid intake, check if you have any fever (in which case you must contact your doctor promptly), and take the following medications which are considered safe in pregnancy especially that you're already in the third trimester; Advil Cold &Sinus OR Panadol Cold &Flu (1 tablet every 6-8 hours) as needed to relieve any pain and congestion, nasal saline spray (like sterimar or physiomer), and if your nose blockage is very bothersome, you may use nasal decongestant sprays (such as Otrivin) 2 puffs in each nostril every 8 hours ONLY WHEN NEEDED, as this drug is notorious for causing rebound congestion (i.e., once its effect wanes, the nasal blockage will reoccur and you'll get caught in a vicious cycle).
If you still have any concerns or your condition gets worse, kindly contact your doctor.
