all exercises you do in the gym beside balanced low fat diet rich in protien will let you lose weight and gain muscles instead ,be sure to drink water more frequently when exercising
try to change intensity of your workouts don't make the same excercise everytime ,the body will use to it but rather alternate between excercises of arms ,legs ,abds,.... and try to make your treadmill exercise varies between walking running and jogging ,change the incline too
