Gastric plication, sometimes called laparoscopic greater curvature plication(LGCP), involves folding the stomach wall inward and suturing it in place over a sizing tube. The procedure takes up to two hours to perform and reduces stomach volume by as much as 70 percent.
Yes, you must watch what you eat and how much of it you eat for the rest of your life, think about it you decrease your stomack area b y about 70% so your food intake will be decreased to fit you rnew stomach
Depending on their pre-operative weight, patients can expect to lose between 40% to 70% of their excess body weight in the first year after surgery. Many obesity-related comorbidities improve or resolve after bariatric surgery. Diabetes, hypertension, obstructive sleep apnea and abnormal cholesterol levels are improved. Though long-term studies are not yet available, the weight loss that occurs after Gastric Plication results in significant improvement in these medical conditions in the first year after surgery.
