Hi, I noticed a discoloration of semen, brown color. Is that bad? And how do I treat it? Thank u for any help you provide.

Dr. Rania Mousa General Medicine
Semen is normally a whitish, cloudy fluid.changes in the appearance of semen are usually temporary and not a health concern.Sometimes these changes can be a sign of an underlying medical condition that requires further evaluation.
If these changes persist for longer than a week or two or if the color change is associated with other symptoms such as pain, fever, sexual dysfunction or blood in the urine, see your doctor for an evaluation.
brown color semen possibly means that there is certain bleeding in the prostate, many can cause this problem 80% due to a biobsy and if no biobsy taken then other causes such as infections, inflamations,...you need to be evaluated and examined and do certain tests and images to know the cause and take treatment depending on cause
