I have scoliosis. Last week, I had trouble breathing; I can't take too much air but I feel like my body needs more. And sometimes I lose consciousness. Is this due to the scoliosis?

Dr. Jihad Irani Family Medicine
Some people with SEVERE scoliosis can have trouble breathing, if their lungs are not able to expand sufficiently during inspiration. If it is not that severe, you have to look at other causes, some being related to "fast breathing" (hyperventilation). Check with your doctor who should be able to orient you toward the right action.
