My 9 month old baby is refusing my milk. I tried giving it with it biscuits, cerelac and I even changed his milk but he still refuses it. What to do?

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
With the early introduction of solids to your baby’s diet, his daily formula intake will naturally start to drop gradually, until it reaches around 720 mL per day. Once your baby is eating solids regularly, this number will decrease to about 500 to 600 mL a day of formula in addition to a healthy and varied diet.
Most babies have around 700 to 950 mL of milk per day when they are about 6 months old. When they reach a year, the number will be between 470 to 700 mL. The bulk of their nutrition will be from solid foods. Most of the time, babies between 8 and 9 months are already having three meals of “solid” foods each day, but each baby is different.
As far as we know, babies do not eat for pleasure, so it is better that you let him regulate how much to eat. He will only eat when hungry. After giving him his morning milk, wait one or two hours and let him eat as much solid food as he wants. A child at that age who persistently refuses to drink milk is most likely full from the sold food meals. You need to reduce the portion of the meal you are offering to allow some room in his stomach for milk, which remains an essential nutrient for your child. If your baby refuses to drink this much milk, try giving him foods with milk such as yogurt, rice pudding, or custard.
