DOSTINEX (Cabergoline) is mainly used to treat disorders that result from high levels of the hormone prolactin in the blood.
Prolactin is produced by the pituitary gland in the brain and stimulates the production of breast milk.
DOSTINEX(Cabergoline) decreases the production of prolactin from the pituitary gland by acting on dopamine receptors found on the pituitary gland.and thus it can be used to stop the production of breast milk
