How long do we get the results for the EBV and HIV tests?
Oct 27, 2014

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
EBV Immunoglobulins (IgG, marker of previous exposure if positive, and IgM, marker of active infection if elevated) usually come out on the same day of blood sample withdrawal.
As for HIV tests, the most common HIV tests look for HIV antibodies in your body, rather than looking for HIV itself. The Enzyme immunoassay (EIA) tests use blood, oral fluid, or urine to detect HIV antibodies. Results for these tests can take up to two weeks.
