Dr rania mousa. my right knee make a single and loud pop when I fold it. I did MRI and doc says its normal. Before it pops I feel that it is locked on 90° then it pops. also it pops left and right :(

Cracking or popping of the knee when it isn’t associated with pain or swelling is quite normal with no concern . what is happening is that overtime the tissue that covers the bones, called cartilage, can develop odd areas,When we squat or stand or exercise sounds come from these rougher surfaces gliding across each other. It could also be the tissue that connects bones to other bones, called ligaments, tightening as you move, or the joint lining moving over bones.
If you have cracking or popping that does cause pain or swelling of the knee, though, see a doctor. It can be a sign of:
Meniscus tears.
Cartilage injury or wear.
concerning weakness you feel after is due to the energy released in the process
