Dr. mostafa : is it possible when someone have panic attacks and chronic anxiety to be prescribed venlax, cipralex and Xanax in the same time ?

Dr. Georges Karam Psychiatry
Yes it may happen. If the symptoms are severe in intensity and one antidepressant (such as venlax or cipralex) is not enough, another one is added. BUT the other medication is added once you reached a good dose of the 1st one. There is no point of taking 2 antidepressants at low dose. Discuss with your doctor the doses that you are on. He/she will be able to explain the rational of adding 2 antidepressants. Good luck!
