Does roaccutane make you thirsty?
Apr 24, 2015

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
True. RoAccutane (isotretinoin) can make you feel thirstier than usual. This is because it creates dryness of the mucosa of the oral cavity (the mucosa is the layer of tissue that covers the insides of organs) and the lips as well, so you may notice that your lips are becoming chapped. Dryness induced by the administration of RoAccutane also affects the eyes, so avoid using contact lenses while on treatment, and also the nasal mucosa which predisposes you to develop nose bleeds, so make sure you keep the insides if your nose moist by applying a thin film of Vaseline petroleum jelly using a cotton tip.
